The traffic in Manchester is notoriously bad when United are playing at Old Trafford.In fact, it’s led to the Manchester United team arriving late for some Champions League matches this season despite staying at a hotel just half a mile away from the ground.1

United were hit with a fine by UEFA after arriving late at Old Trafford for a match against Valencia in October

It prompted former manager Jose Mourinho to even tell the world’s media he once stepped off the coach and walked to the ground in disguise as it was quicker!And on Wednesday, United welcome Barcelona to Old Trafford for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie which promises to be a wonderful spectacle.But if you’re in Manchester at the time of the match, but not going to Old Trafford, there will only be one thing on your mind – more horrendous traffic around the city! In preparation for the game and undoubtedly the huge jams around the city, Manchester’s traffic team left a message advising people travelling around the city to consider using public transport with a hilarious twist!The message read: “MUFC v BARCA, Old Trafford, Wed 10 Apr 20:00.“Pique time will be Messi.
